Here's a little info about me...
I consider myself to be a “fine art” artist, capturing inspiration found in my environment, especially in nature. I enjoy painting outdoors (En Plein Air), but I also take photos and draw sketches for use in-studio, sometimes taking creative liberty to change things like the background. If I feel blocked, I leave the fine art and work on “design-based art” focusing on design, colors, and brush strokes. This is why you will find both in the Gallery.
The joy of painting for me is to take a blank canvas and transfer not just the image but also the feeling of what I am enjoying. I work in several mediums, but watercolor became my favorite after studying with artist Timothy J. Clark in the 1980’s and artist F. Douglas Greenbowe in the 1990’s.

Some of the current works available are from my early years of painting
and have been used in my home, such as the painting of Zippers on the
beach in Cabo. I find these works are appreciated by those who knew “the
way it was back in the day.”
As you scroll through the Gallery you might notice similar themes,
and you would be right, especially when it comes to the eucalyptus trees of
Southern California, and gardens…gardens anywhere. Thank you again for your interest in my work. Please enjoy scrolling through the Gallery and use the Contact page to reach out for specific information or questions.
